Length Measurement FAQs
Length typically refers to the longest dimension of an object, while width is the shorter side perpendicular to the length. For example, in a rectangle, length is the longer side and width is the shorter side.
The smallest unit in the SI system is the yoctometer (10^-24 meters), but in practical physics, the Planck length (about 1.6 × 10^-35 meters) is considered the smallest meaningful length in quantum mechanics.
